La The Darkman released his solo album "Heist Of The Century" in 1998 and is currently working on his second album. La has 8 extremely popular and best-selling mixtapes under his belt, and his mixtapes have also been commonly referred to as "street albums" because even though they are manufactured in limited quantities and not sold in traditional retail stores, the overall product from beats to lyrics to studio-quality recording and mastering are top notch and every bit as professional sounding as a real album. La doesn't see the point in putting his time and talent into a mixtape that isn't good quality, and unlike a lot of artists, he refuses to put his name on anything less than the very best.
"The Notorious L.A.D." is a great "street album", with everything you would want or expect from an MC of his caliber. Because of it's popularity, "L.A.D." was double-pressed, meaning that the single manufacturing of the traditional 5,000 official copies of a mixtape were not enough to satisfy the public, and DJ Drama quickly went back and had a second batch of them manufactured to please La's fans. That said, there are 10,000 official copies of this CD in existence, and considering that it's a 2008 release, making it nearly 4 years old, finding a mint condition official copy is becoming more and more difficult.
If you are a fan or collector then this is your chance to swoop up an OFFICIAL piece of hip hop history in beautiful shape, so don't sleep! You won't get anything but the REAL DEAL from Music, Games & More, so don't settle for these apartment-manufactured sellers using lightscribe discs and an inkjet printer to make their own fake mixtapes to sell online, inferior products are not worth your time or money.
